Wired’s Gadget Lab highlights a hack for sunglasses:
The simple hack consists of mounting two infrared LEDs into the frames of a pair of sunglasses and running the cables to the earpieces, where they hook up with a couple of button batteries.
Putting on the glasses presses the wires against the batteries and the lights glow protectively, unseen by the human eye, but bright enough to obliterate your image from security cameras.
Surveillance cameras and facial recognition systems are already stymied by sunglasses, hats, and hoodies. Personally, I wouldn’t spend the extra money on these glasses, but they are an interesting addition to the market of counter-veillance technologies.
