    New York Times: Tech Talk Podcast: Tracking and Privacy

    The New York Times, which has been focusing on privacy lately, has a tech podcast on the issue as related to online targeted behavioral advertising and other types of online user-tracking and data collection.

    Concerns about commercial tracking of Web users — and how consumer data is used — have led the Federal Trade Commission to call for action, including a way to opt out. On this week’s Tech Talk podcast, Bettina Edelstein speaks with Tanzina Vega, a New York Times media reporter who has been covering online privacy. Ms. Vega says that some in the advertising industry are raising alarms about the F.T.C.’s proposal for a simple tool to opt out of tracking.
