The House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade has scheduled a hearing, “Balancing Privacy and Innovation: Does the President’s Proposal Tip the Scale?” The hearing will focus on the Obama administration’s proposal for consumer privacy protections, “Consumer Data Privacy in a Networked World: A Framework for Protecting Privacy and Promoting Innovation in the Global Digital Economy” (pdf). Witnesses have not been announced.
